SUCCESS STORIES

CREATING SPACE FOR OUR COMMUNITY TO THRIVE

We’re passionate about supporting people – those trying to rebuild and reinvent the Leechburg community but just need a little help. Here are just some of the ways we’ve improved the lives of our residents.

LEECHBURG RIVERFRONT PARK

The Leechburg Riverfront Park was constructed in 2002 along a gorgeous section of the Kiskiminetas River. In recent years, the park had fallen into disrepair – becoming overgrown and unused by the community. The LACDC board members along with community volunteers raised over $5,000 and contributed over 500 hours of volunteer work replacing the cinder block wall with a modern aluminum railing, painting the gazebo, repairing the utilities, cutting down and trimming trees and controlling the invasive knotweed. Since the completion of the first phase of restoration, the park has seen a sharp increase in utilization, including two weddings. Work is continuing with the removal of invasive trees along the riverbank and the creation of a primitive boat ramp.

Help us make a better, stronger community.

The LACDC’s seven current board members cannot do this alone. Everyone has something to offer. Get in touch! We’ll show you how you can become involved and help Leechburg evolve again into an even stronger community.
